Bowie Knife
The Bowie knife that I make is the same one put out by the Franklin Mint in the 1980's as a collector's item. This one it is claimed is a copy of the knife that James Bowie actually used at the Alamo.
My Bowie knife is made from 1/4 inch ATS34 Stainless Steel bar stock. The guard is made from 416 stainless steel. The pommel and fore-piece are made from 303 stainless steel. The handle is made from oak. This knife comes with a specially made sheath. It is the only custom knife I make that is not a full tang knife.
This is the only knife I make that is not a "user" knife. It does not lend itself well for hunting or fishing. It could be used for a defense knife, and, in a pinch, as a Chef's knife. However, most people will want to bring it out to show it or keep it in their showcase.
This custom Bowie knife has 13 1/2" over-all length, 1/4" thick blade, stainless steel guard, hardware, and pommel, and an oak handle.
